Things you should take into consideration before instructing a Home Information Pack Provider

Our Home Information Packs include a Personal Search, if you wish additional searches or Local Authority search please contact us to find out the associated costs. Between areas Local Authority fees vary and to keep our pricing structure constant our HIPs include a personal search. All of our searches are performed by companies belonging to the Search Code
Before you instruct a HIP or EPC provider ask how much it will cost to duplicate the pack. As well as the hard copy pack delivered to your door, fama give you all your details on a Cd and issue you with a unique user name and password for our website. This allows you to duplicate your own pack by logging on and viewing all your files on line as PDF's. You can even copy your Cd or give out your internet details at you own descretion.
Every HIP needs an EPC, make sure your assessor has the correct qualifications to carry out the survey or your HIP will become invalid. All of fama's assessors have qualified to a minimum of the national standard - Level 3 Award in Domestic Energy Assessment.
Be sure there are no hidden costs. Remember there will be VAT to pay on the pack price and make sure all of the compulsory documents are included in the price
